ENGEL COMPANIES were founded in 1952 by Mr. F. Herbert Engel (1927-2005) and began operations in 1952, representing in Chile some strategic business units of E.I. DuPont de Nemours & Co. Inc. (Wilmington, DE).
In 1979, the company created F.H. ENGEL S.A., a company dedicated to the import and sale of raw materials, equipment and services for the plastics, food, telecommunications, pharmaceutical, oils, confectionery, construction, detergent, fishing, natural gas distribution, packaging, paint, paper, mining, personal care products, refrigeration, rubber, cable TV and textile industries, among others.
Later, in 1982, Comercial F.H Engel S.A. was created. A company dedicated to the import, marketing and distribution of the most prestigious brands in the world in the categories of food, canned foods, liquors, etc. whose mission is that every Chilean home can enjoy the most refined and exclusive flavors in the world.
Finally, in 1998, LUNIBEN was created, a company dedicated to storage, logistics and distribution services for dry, refrigerated and frozen products. It has two storage centers perfectly equipped to provide comprehensive quality service to its clients throughout the entire national territory.
In its different companies, our collaborators work together with our representatives to align objectives, train technically and commercially and develop sustainable business development plans for permanent growth.
All these companies are managed by Interlaken, created in 2006 with the purpose of providing administrative, financial and control services to the Engel group of companies.
